Saint Katherine (Patron of the Miraculous Medal)
Patron Saint: The Miraculous Medal "O Mary, conceived wthout sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee" -The Miraculous Medal
Also Known as: St. Catherine Laboure', Katherine Labore and Zoe Laboure
Memorial: November 28th Born: May, 1806 in Burgundy, France
Died: December, 1876 in France
Beautified: 1933 bu Pope Pius XI
Canonized: July, 1947 by Pope Pius XII
Why she is venerated by the Holy Roman Catholic Church:
Recieved the call to serve Christ at a very young age
Visionary: Her first vision was received when she entered the hospital of the Sisters of Charity to visit her sister.
St. Vincent De Paul told her in the vision that she must devote her life to healing the sick. After receiving the vision, she joined the Sisters of Charity and took the name Catherine. In 1830, the next Vision she received was of the Blessed Virgin Mary instructing her to craft a specific medal to assist the Faithful in Prayer, and to give the wearer a great many Graces. This medal is now known as the Miraculous Medal Miracles:
