Died: March 15th 1660 in Paris
Beautified: May 1920 by Pope Benedict XV
Canonized: March 1934 by Pope Pius XI
Prayer for the intercession of St. Louise:
O God, You inspired Saint Louise to strive for perfect charity, and so attain Your Kingdom at the end of her pilgramage on earth. Strengthen us through her intercession that we may advance rejoicing in the way of love and service to our brothers and sisters. Amen.
Why she is venerated by the Holy Roman Catholic Church:
Student of St. Vincent De Paul
Rejected by several convents based on her poor health. She however persisted with no success, and then created her own convent named the Daughters of Charity, which is in modern day, one of the largest Catholic convents and religious orders in the world. The Daughters of Charity have inspired thousands of other organizations, Catholic and not, worldwide.
